A week of events
in support of the people of Palestine
3rd to 10th October

Picture
Hope for Gaza

An exhibition of Drawings, Paintings and Sculpture at One Off Contemporary Art
supported by Circle Art Gallery

Film and Concert Evenings at Tribal Gallery

Our Motivation

Tribal Gallery, Circle Art Agency and One Off Contemporary Art Gallery along with Xavier Verhoest and Sheida Jaffer, are joining hands in an unprecedented effort to make whatever contribution we can muster to support the people of Gaza.  No words are needed to amplify the horror of the Genocide.  We feel the call to us all for the respect of humanity, must not go unanswered.

In our attempts to raise funds we acknowledge the extraordinary generosity of all the artists listed.  The response to our call was instantly positive and totally supportive. All our incredible artists have contributed their works with no percentage going back to them.  None of the Galleries or organisers will take any percentage either.  100% of any purchase you make will go to the people of Palestine.

Many will ask who we will fund in Gaza:  We continue to support individual families and organizations on the ground in Gaza and in Cairo.  This fundraising provides direct emergency lifesaving food, shelter and basic health care.
Due to the sensitivity of the context, if you require more information, please feel free to reach out to the organizers.

About the film and performance evenings at Tribal Gallery

The Voice of Hind Rajab at Tribal Gallery
January 29, 2024. Red Crescent volunteers receive an emergency call. A 6-year old girl is trapped in a car under fire from the Israeli forces in Gaza, pleading for rescue. While trying to keep her on the line, they do everything they can to get an ambulance to her. Her name was Hind Rajab.

The film had its world premiere in the main competition of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival on 3 September 2025, where it won the Grand Jury Prize and got a 23 minute standing ovation.

Music Concert by Coster Ojwang at Tribal Gallery
Coster Ojwang’s music flows effortlessly between tradition, modernity, and raw emotion.
Born in Migori and now rooted in Nairobi, Coster channels the rhythms of his Luo heritage into soul-stirring folk fusions that speak to love, identity, and the everyday struggles of humanity.
While on stage, he is building bridges — between cultures, between past and present, between heart and mind. He is an artist of the future, telling Africa’s stories with a voice and vision that can’t be ignored.
Date: Sunday 5th October, 2025
Time: 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk at Tribal Gallery
This unforgettable documentary follows video calls between Director Sepideh Farsi and Palestinian photojournalist Fatma Hassouna in Gaza. Through Fatma’s words, images, and daily life, the film captures resilience amid bombardment and loss in Gaza. The work became a memorial after Fatma was killed in an airstrike by the Israeli forces in April 2025.
Ultimately, it is a portrait of courage, identity, and witness under siege.  Nominated for the Golden Eye award at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, it won Best International Feature at the Encounters South African International Documentary Festival in 2025.

Film Screening: Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk (2025)

Buraq weeps over Palestine by Sophie Walbeoffe - oil on canvas - 120 x 142 cm - USD 10 750 (Now selling at USD 5 375)

“After living in the Old City of Jerusalem, I painted this vision of Buraq — the winged horse of Islamic tradition — soaring above the rooftops and domes. The painting grew out of my daily experience of the city, its sacred layers and its tensions. By placing Buraq in flight, I wanted to capture both the spiritual imagination that Jerusalem inspires and the yearning for transcendence in a place so burdened by history.”
