Muriithi was born in 1973 in Kenya.

​Considered one of the leading printmakers in the region and arguably, the only practitioner in Kenya, using the Embossing technique.

He says 'my interest in art started way back at a young age'. Muriithi achieved his first certificate of merit in art in class one.

Muriithi goes on to say that he was introduced to print making in 1993 and subsequently it has been an enduring passion.  He has been taught and in turn, has taught printmaking in many countries around the world.  He also paints and sculpts in metal.

He has attended workshops in painting and printmaking both locally and internationally.  Artist Mandy Bonnell has been a mentor and was responsible for facilitating a dual residency for Muriithi at Bath Spa University and the London Print Studio, both in the United Kingdom.  Muriithi went on to attend a Summer School Print Workshop in Austria.

Works by this artist are collected both locally and internationally.
