Is a popular phrase used mostly in Kikuyu language radio stations to sell plots of land.  The  phrase loosely translates to 'Prime or Hot property'.
The origin of the phrase is attributed to a local radio host ,"Njogu wa Njoroge" , who  popularized it during his shows advertising land to his listeners 
 
It's a good phrase to think about the historically complicated issues of land in this Country.
For a start, a number of companies who advertised with these radio stations turned out to be less than honest.
In 2019,  a real estate company  popular with Kikuyu radio stations was exposed for embezzling over 1 billion shillings of investor's money.
 
These issues are reflected in public land use where cases of land grabbing are rampant. 
According to the Ndung'u land report on  unlawful allocation of public land, over 200,000 title deeds for public land had been irregularly allocated by
the year 2002.
 
Through this  work I explore the different aspects associated with land as it relates to the history of this country. To quote the report,
"land retains a focal point in Kenya’s history. It was the basis upon which the struggle for independence was waged. It has traditionally dictated the pulse of our nationhood. It continues to command a pivotal position in the country’s social, economic, political and legal relations."
